Jellypark Challenge: Celebrate Summer

Time for a new Jellypark challenge - its nearly July and it should be summer but this morning it really does not feel like it!!  The challenge theme is:

Celebrate Summer

I went with a summer feel to my card and used a cute digi - Girl in Bee Costume and I've coloured her with Promarkers plus added stickles to the wings.  I've actually made a slider card but the little bee slides in a circle!  It was really easy to make as long as I didn't put the foam pads in the wrong place!

The papers are from Funky Hand Wishes and Kisses cd and I've added a faux running stitch around the edges.  The sentiment in the centre is a freebie from Jellypark but you have to buy the matching digi to get it for free!  But as the digi is only £1.25 - its a bargain!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments: Summer
DRS Designs:  The Letter B
Ruby's Rainbow:  Things With Wings
Deep Ocean Challenge:  Welcome Summer
Lady Anne's Challenge:  The Great Outdoors

Image:  Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers and stickles
Sentiment:  Jellypark freebie (with purchase)
Papers:  Funky Hand, Wishes and Kisses cd

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 26 - Animals

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge and the theme for the week is:

Animals

I've gone for an old favourite and used the Buster template from Paper Boutique Vol 3.  It's really easy to use - just print out the required size elements (I've used A5), cut out and then layer up!

All I've added is wobbly eyes and glossy accents on the nose!  Plus on the template there are extras you can add like a dog bowl plus change to a boy with blue necktie!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Papercrafting Journey:  Anything But Square
Little Red Wagon:  Red and White
Whimsy Inspiration:  Shaped Cards
Creative Card Crew:  No Designer Paper
Crafty Boots:  Anything But Square

Happy Birthday To Ewe!

Even though Flossy can't speak she can certainly make a banner to wish you a Happy Birthday!  And here she is!  You can find Flossy in the store for £1 - ewe won't find a better baaargain!

I've coloured Flossy with Promarkers and used Sizzix dies for the fence and grass.  I made the banner myself with a cocktail stick and some offcuts of green card - sentiment is handwritten.  And the backing paper is Echo Park - Splash.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations:  Fur or Feathers (does wool count?!)
Pause, Dream, Enjoy:  Anything Goes
The Paper Nest Dolls:  Animal Love
Pan Pastels:  Lots of Layers
My Sheri Crafts:  Birthday

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 53

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge!  And here is the sketch!

Funky Hand are sponsoring the challenge and one lucky winner will get to choose a download from the store!  I've used the very versatile Winter Wedding download to make my card plus added some red and kraft card stars plus an acetate star and a handle from a brown paper bag!

The papers actually look like they are fine rib but they are not - totally flat!  I've added some half pearls for balance and handwrote the sentiment myself.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Catered Crop:  Die Cuts
Dream Valley Challenges:  Male
Joanna Sheen:  Male
One Stitch At A Time:  Not Square

Grandad in Chair

And here is the second new release digi from Jellypark and this one is called Grandad In Chair.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and then cut it out before adding to some offucts of printed paper that I had in my box.  The papers are from Funky Hand - Funky Daze cd and this must be one of my most favourite colour collections from the cd!

I've used my X Cut star dies and used left over scraps.  The sentiment has been stamped with a little wooden Studio G alphabet stamp.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Art Impressions Stamps:  Fathers Day
Crafting For All Seasons:  One For The Guys
Sisterhood of Crafters: Man or Boy
Crazy Amigo:  Mens Cards

Having Fun

Here is one of the new release digi's from Jellypark, its called Dad with Kids and it is one of the Charity stamps so all proceeds will go to the Jellypark charity of the year, which currently is The Sick Children's Trust.  So for each stamp that is bought, all the proceeds go to the charity!

I've coloured it with Promarkers and then coloured the grass and sky with watercolour pencils.  The stripy paper is from Echo Park - Splash and I've used an offcut of kraft card for layering along with some green I found in my box.

The sentiment is also a new release and it's part of a collection of 10 for only £2.25 and each of the stamps has a various Father's Day sentiment on them.  I've also coloured it with a combination of Promarkers and watercolour pencils before adding it with foam pads.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Dl.Art: Thankful:  Fathers Day
DRS Designs: The Great Outdoors
Little Miss Muffet:  Happy Families
I Love Promarkers:  Anything Goes

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Thank You Teacher

The Friday in between challenges, the Jellypark Design Team pick a digi stamp from the back catalouge and showcase it; this week it is the Thank You Teacher digi.

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and then used papers and school house image from the Samantha Walker A to Z Mega Pack (bought from Jessica Sprague as a download some time ago for the bargain price of $1!!)

All I've added is a faux running stitch with a black fineliner around the edge of the card and a little bit of inking!  I've added a smaller version of the paper inside to write on and I've made 4 of these cards as they will be the thank you cards for Samuel's teachers.

Get me being all organised!!  Mind you, I need to be - got a rather busy weekend coming up.  Samuel is karting all weekend as he has his first licenced (MSA) race on Sunday and Jacob has a football tournament on Saturday.  And the weather forecast is rain.  So the washing machine is going to be well used.  That's if I have enough time to get everything washed!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

My Heart Pieces:  Use A Digi
Digi Stamps 4 Joy:  Masculine
Pollycraft:  Anything Goes
Card Mania:  Kraft Paper
Cards For Men:  Boys Will Be Boys

Image:  Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 44 - You've Had It How Long??!!

I am a little late with posting the new Crimbo Crackers challenge.  My excuse is that it didn't feel like a Thursday when I woke up so forgot.  And I wasn't organised enough to schedule it.

The theme for the fortnight is:

You've Had It How Long??!!

So perfect time to use up your Christmas stash - for more details on the challenge pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

I've used a Sassy Cheryl pre printed image that I bought in a pack from CraftsUPrint and then had a root through my stash and found the burgundy paper that I know I've had since Jacob was a baby (and he's nearly 8!)

The papers are an old Pink Petticoat design - the cd is no longer available and I think I bought the cd at a similar time to the paper!  I know I printed the paper quite some time ago as its on semi-glossy photo paper and I've not used that for years!

The charm and embroidery thread are new editions so don't count!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenges:  L is for Less is More
Christmas at Sweet Stamping:  Cute and Cuddly and Non Traditional Colours
Crafting By Design:  Favourite Season
Nutcrafters:  Food or Drink

Star Trekin'

Sometimes there is a certain film or tv series that really captures the imagination. This can become an all consuming passion in which the hooked partake in realistic fully costumed renditions of favourite scenes. Svetlana is no exception. Here we manage to capture a glimpse of her just prior to transporting herself to such an event.

Her front room (or 'parlour' as she pronounces it in her heavy LiLithuanian accent) is quite the shrine to the popular interstellar travel series that is Star Trek, circa 1968 - The Original Series. Complete with glittery floor covering (a DIY attempt to recreate the Starship Enterprise) and a blow-up globe, Svetlana feels right at home.

Svetlana Queen of Uranus can be transported to your own hard drive for the token gesture of two English Pounds.  Her occassional side table is also available for 50p, and if you too desire the Bloomin' 70's wallpaper, this can also grace your creations for £1 - be sure to check the multi buy discounts though on the papers!

I've coloured Svetlana and the coffee table with Promarkers - the globe is a die cut along with the tv's.  I've made the shelving myself and the skirting board.  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion:  Dressing up
Digi Makeover:  Punches / Dies
Make My Monday:  Purples and 1 Netural

Jellypark Challenge - Marvellously Male!

It's time for a new Jellypark challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Marvellously Male

There are also two fab new release digi stamps too but I'll blog them at some point between now and the next releases!  But here is my card for the challenge theme.  I've used the fab Grandad digi and coloured it with Promarkers.

The papers are from one of the new Wedding themed downloads from Funky Hand - Autumn Wedding as the colours and pattern where just what I was looking for!  The sentiment comes with the digi stamp and I've added a button and some embroidery thread from my stash.  A nice, simple and quick card to make - hope you can join us in the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

The Perfect Sentiment:  For The Boys

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 24 - Father's Day / Male

The weeks are certainly flying by and its time for a new Polkadoodle challenge!  The theme this week is:

Fathers Day or Male

I've delved into the back catalogue of Polkadoodle cd's and made this cute card - you can make it A4, A5 or A6 sized and its all pre printed too - just cut out and stick!  Plus there is the option of colouring one in yourself.  Its from the Paper Boutique Vol 1 cd and I've simply printed off the A5 pre coloured version, cut it out and glued it together!

The only extra bits I've added is the running stitch around the edges.  So a nice and quick card to make!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafting By Design:  Male / Father's Day
Crafting For All Season:  One For The Guys
Sisterhood of Crafters:  All About The Boy

On The Beach

I think I'm having one of those weeks - the type that no matter how much you do, nothing seems to be achieved.  My to do list seems to be getting longer and the items are just not being crossed off as quick as I would like.  I don't think it helps knowing I've got a few busy weekends coming up with the boys (karting - what else?!) which means I won't get any crafting done at all.

Anyway!  At least looking at this card cheers me up!  I entered the monthly I Heart Sketches challenge last month and as it is a progressive challenge, I got the image emailed to me for the June challenge.  Hope you followed that!  And here it is!

I've only used one of the three images in the set and I didn't manage to use a sentiment as I couldn't work out where to put it so that it looked right.  The card was supposed to be a stepper but it went wrong so ended up being a normal one!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and added foam pads behind it before adding it to the sky.  I made the bunting from some scraps on my table and then added the embriodery thread.  A bit of faux stitching down the side and its complete!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I Heart Sketches Monthly Progressive:  Image used
Creative Moments:  Weather
Scrappers Delights:  S Is For (Sunshine, Sea, Sand, Shells)
Whimsical Designs:  Summertime Fun
Craftroom Challenge:  Here Comes The Summer

Mr and Mrs!

Just in case you've missed noticing that Anice at Funky Hand has released four (yes, FOUR!) new downloads, here is one I made earlier using the Summer Wedding download:

I've also used my trusty Sizzix Original die machine along with the Sizzix body, dress and Girls Are Weird alphabet.  The tiara is a Quickutz die and I made the top hat and tie myself.  A bit of stickles on the letters plus liquid pearls here and there and the card is complete!

There are 4 collections in a Wedding theme - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and although they are Wedding themed, they can be used for any occasion as not all the patterns are loved up!  And what is great about the collections are that you can buy them either as one seasonal kit or split down, so if you just want the papers, you don't have to buy everything else!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Through The Craft Room Door:  Anything Goes
Emerald Faeries:  Die Cuts / Punches
Country View Crafts Challenge:  Die Cuts
Emergency Crafters:  Pomp and Ceremony
Melonheadz:  Die Cuts

To Dad

This is the card I'm going to send my Dad for Fathers Day (which is this coming Sunday in case you'd forgotten).  Now, I know he has a sense of humour but I'm not sure if I'm pushing my luck a bit too much here as my Dad doesn't quite look like the image on the card; yes he is balding but he's not quite at the Santa look just yet.  But I do know he likes his tea.

Plus I've never known my Dad to wear a lime green ensemble as I've depicted here, but I do recall some very similar lurid 1970's wallpaper which I'm sure was captured in the many Birthday parties we had as kids........

Feet Up and A Cuppa are available to buy right now so you too can insult your Dad!  Plus authentic Bloomin' 70's wallpaper adds the perfect touch - available in various cringy colours!

PS Don't forget the Birthday Sale - its on until 23 June but you'll need the discount code (on the post below!)

I've used Promarkers for colour and the three die cut letters I found in my stash (the d's are actually b's and p's) and they have been coloured with Promarkers too.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts:  For The Men In Your Life
Crafters Cafe:  Father's Day / Male
Cards For Men:  Boys Will Be Boys
Craft Your Passion:  Father's Day
Crafty Cardmakers:  Father's Day

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 52

It's time for a new Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is the sketch to use:
We are sponsored by Sassy Studios Design and the winner of the challenge gets to choose 4 digi's from the store!

I've used the cute Tinkerbell Honey and coloured her with Promarkers and added stickles to her wings.  The oval is cut with an X Cut die and I've added dotted liquid pearls around the edges of the card and oval.  A bit of distressing with the papers and some baby pink organza ribbon added plus the stamped sentiment and my card is complete!

I've recently bought another pack of the Dovecraft Kraft Card Blanks so you'll be seeing them a lot more!  The card blanks are much better quality this time (the first pack I bought was when they were initally launched) and are thicker card too!

For more details and how to enter the challenge, please visit Fetch A Sketch!

Just click on the banner to go shopping and don't forget the discount code!

Walking The Dog

Here is the other new release digi from Jellypark and this one is called Walking The Dog.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and the background was made with a rather faded and tatty blue inkpad which was perfect as it wasn't too dark!

I've cut the image out with a Nestie and then added it directly to the backing papers which are made to look like a layered card - its part of a download kit from Cuddly Buddly and I think they are great for quick cards!

We have some blackbirds that have nested in the back garden and its been lovely watching them collect bits of dead plants (yeah, I need to garden more often!) to make their nest and as I type this, one is hopping around (rather close to the open patio door - my computer is in the kitchen and looks out over the garden) collecting worms and other delicacies to eat.  Amazing how they pull the worms from the grass!

Martini Chicks

I really do like this image from I Heart Digital Stamps; it makes me smile and its easy to colour so nice quick cards can be made!  I've also followed the current sketch too and used up papers I found in my stash plus the circle die cut is from another project but that won't be blogged for a few weeks yet - so good all round!

The papers are from Funky Hand - Wishes and Kisses cd and I've added two buttons and embroidery thread from my stash.  The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've added glossy accents to the Martini inside the glasses - the sentiment comes with the image.

Could do with a nice cool drink right now as its been another scorcher of a day but today I've sat outside and sort of managed some colouring although I must admit I spent most of my time watching Jacob mess around with a bowl of water!

Cake!

Here is one of the new releases from Jellypark and this one is simply called cake!  If you are quick you can buy it for the reduced price of just £1!

I've coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents over the rather wild and unusually coloured icing!  The papers are from Echo Park - Splash and I've made the bunting from offcuts and some black card from my stash.

The embroidery thread is from my stash.  Don't forget - pop over to Jellypark to grab the digi for £1!

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Fairy Mum and Girl

On the Friday between challenges over at Jellypark, we have a stamp spotlight feature and this time it is the turn of this very cute digi - Mum and Daughter Fairy.  I've coloured them with Promarkers plus added some liquid pearls and stickles to the dresses.

I've used some pearlescent card to make the card base (got a massive A1 sized sheet from The Range for about £1 some time ago!) as I'd forgotten I had it and then added the papers.  I honestly can't remember where the papers came from as they were from my box.

I've used a Spellbinder die to cut the image out and then layered it onto a scalloped loopy edge Nestie (don't think that is its name, but it will do at the moment!)  Ribbon and pearl heart slider are from my stash and the sentiment has been stamped with an acrylic freebie stamp.

Pop over to Jellypark to see what the rest of the Design Team have made with this fab stamp!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too - Fathers Day / For A Male

It's time for a new Simply Create Too challenge and the theme is a topical one:

Fathers Day / For A Male

I've used a fab image from Dr Digi - Gardening Gus and he's been coloured with Promarkers.  I've added a Jellypark bunting to the top of the shed which has also been coloured with Promarkers and I've handwritten the sentiment.

The shed background is a sheet I bought from CraftsUPrint for 80p and it makes the making of male cards so much easier!  And the grass is the icicle die from Marianne Creatables.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 43 - Make Me Laugh

It's Thursday so time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge! I'm sponsored by the fab Dr Digi and he's offering the winner a digi of their choice from the store!  The challenge theme is:

Make Me Laugh

As I could not resist writing the sentiment to go with this snowman.....!  The image is from the Dr Digi store (and only 50p too!)  I've printed him directly onto the cardstock and then lightly coloured with Promarkers.  I made the paw prints in the snow and handwrote the sentiment.

The silver chipboard snowflake is from a pack I bought a few years ago in the sale at Matalan (I knew I should have bought all of them!) which are slowly running out so I try and hide them at the back of the drawer so I don't see them!  The silver string I think is from some gift wrapping.

So there you have it!  Go on - make me laugh!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Birthday Orders

Corporal Clegg from Dr Digi's House of Stamps has a special message to give.  Actually, its more of an order than a message and he is rather insistent that you have the best of the best of the best Birthday, SIR!

And you're not going to argue with him, are you?!

Give Corporal Clegg a home - he can be yours for only £1!  I've coloured him with Promarkers and added the sign by stamping with two sets of little wooden alphabets.  Shape is an X Cut die.  Aged look is courtesy of a used tea bag.  Simples!

Simply Circles in 15 Minutes!

I've taken some inspiration from Sammylou's Get Funky post a few weeks ago and I've also used Kathy's sketch to create my card!  Plus I also set myself a challenge of creating a card in under 15 minutes!

I've used papers from the soon to be released Summer Wedding download and cut different shaped circles with my Nesties.  I've inked the edges with blank ink and added a dotted line around the edges with a black fineliner pen.

I found a scoreboard that I got free with a magazine some time ago (I was actually looking for something else and came across it!) and used it to make the embossed lines around the edges of the card.

Ribbon is a generous donation from my cousin Claire - left overs from when she made her Wedding Stationery last year and the pearls are from my stash.

Rather surprised myself that I managed it in the 15 minutes as I never make cards that quick usually!  Try the time challenge yourself and link up your creation with the blue frog on the Get Funky blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Baby

I am still working my way through the Lili of the Valley pre coloured toppers that I have and also trying to reduce the papers in my offcuts box.  Not sure if either are actually going down.....  I don't know where these papers came from but they fitted with the image I selected so they were being used!

The sentiment is from Jellypark and I've coloured it with Promarkers to match.  Little pearl hearts I found in my stash along with the little heart charm which says 'made with love'.  Ribbon and embroidery thread from the big box under my table.
